About Us
Chevening School Nursery was established in 1993 by the Governors of Chevening Church of England (Aided) Primary School and is situated in its own grounds on the site of Chevening CEP School in Chevening Road, Chipstead, Sevenoaks. We are a registered charity.

We are registered to take up to 24 children per session and inspections are carried out by Ofsted.

At Chevening School Nursery we provide an exciting and safe environment for the children to explore, experiment and develop new skills. We ensure that every child is treated as A Unique Child who must have the opportunities to interact in positive relationships and in an enabling environment.
Individual children's characteristics of effective learning are planned for, enabling each child to learn and develop using their own preferred style, whether this is as an active learner - through playing and exploring - or creatively and thinking critically.
Working in Partnership:
Many events and celebrations are held throughout the year. We encourage all our families to take an active part in them. We have parent representatives who fundraise, arrange social gatherings and attend Management Committee meetings. The Nursery aims to utilise parents’ talents, skills and interests for the benefit of the children. The Nursery works with the parents/carers to provide a rich curriculum for all the children.

Our Committee & Trustees:

We are committee run and lucky to have great members & trustees made up of parents, nursery staff, teachers and school governors, all with the nursery's best interests at heart and all doing it on a voluntary basis.
Our Chair of Nursery Trustees is Louise Dod. Louise liaises between the school governors, school and the nursery. She has been Chair of the Nursery Trustees since 2015.

Our Chair of the Committee since 2022 is Amara Hansford. She has 2 children at Chevening. As an Early Years teacher with experience of leading her own department, Amara is an advocate of excellent EYFS practice!

Since 2022, our Treasurer is Sean Watson. Sean oversees the financials, ensuring we manage our money wisely, whilst giving the children the best experience! Both Sean's children have attended the nursery, so he's pleased to be able to give something back.

The Committee Secretary is also the nursery Administrator. She has been involved with the nursery since 2005 when when both her children attended.

We have a fabulous group of parent reps who are primarily in charge of fund raising as well as organising socials for the parents. They tend to do a 2 year term whilst their children are at the nursery and always do a great job of raising much needed funds.
