BBC Bitesize Primary School is all about helping families feel excited and prepared for this new stage in their child's life.

The website has lots of free and useful advice and resources.

For children - there are games designed by educational consultants called "My first day at school" and "Buds Number Garden" as well as films from school children who take you on a tour of a primary school and talk about the things they look forward to.

For parents - There is advice and top tips, from early years professionals and parents, on everything from toilet training, sleep routines, making friends and more.
