The last 2 weeks we have been focusing on STEM activities. STEM includes the subjects of science, technology, engineering, and math – subjects that are fun for kids of all ages. We looked at chemical reactions (Science) - volcano creations. Life cycles - frogs and caterpillars. Nursery has been very lucky to see real frog spawn, tadpoles and caterpillars. Thank you for bringing these in. It makes our learning much more fun. On Wednesday we planted some seeds. Come and have a look at our window.
At Forest school we have been using magnets.
Technology - cameras, clocks, tablets, torches, microscopes, cars, the wheel, etc.
Engineering - building a bridge over a pretend river and using different construction materials to create and build a house, robot, flowers and lots of other wonderful ideas. Using gears and using our skills to create a water run outside using pipes and funnels.
Math - all about counting, numbers and shapes. Some of us did some cooking this week. Bread rolls were delicious. Talking about Ingredients and where they come from, talking about half's and quarters and counting.
